People have long talked about how social nicety is used to exclude marginalised people. This piece is such a uniquely clear illustration of the point because it's so crude and overt: when your very presence makes people uncomfortable, it becomes impolite, or an imposition to simply *be* present.

I read the headline and thought, yep. But astonishingly the article is *not* arguing the person who harassed a trans woman, forced her to a tribunal and forced her name to be released should be better mannered. It's arguing the trans woman should be better mannered than to simply exist in her job. 🤯
