reminder that if you use vtube studio, dont open it directly from steam!! click on browse local files and click on "start_without_steam" !! it will use less processing power and allow for a smoother stream c: π

If you're using dual PC setups this is particularly important because steam only allows one PC at a time to access the items in your library. So if you launch Monster Hunter on your Game PC your Stream PC won't be able to open anything else in your library at all.
I hope one day they figure out a way to make the collab DLC work when outside of steam mode, but I know they're using Steam's multiplayer lobby backend to make it work, so that's a distant dream.
To add onto this: consider capping your game's FPS using Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Chill, unless you're playing competitive gaming anything over 60fps is wasted while streaming β€οΈ Capping your FPS to 60 leaves a lot more overhead for OBS and your vtuber software, and it'll be a smoother experience!
To add on to this, cap your FPS anyway up to the FPS your monitor allows, even if playing a competitive game. No point in getting 120 fps if your monitor can only run 60 fps.
If you've ever seen anyone struggle with a game that looks like it's running fine but it's causing their model to lag, this is why. And then usually their first reaction is to turn settings down, which makes the problem worse, because now it's running at even HIGHER FPS!
