Hermanos Gutierrez all day every day. Reyna Tropical is also incredible (her music has a lot of South American influences too but she’s Mexican-American).
She tragically died in 2010, and was kind of multinational (raised in Mexico and the US, later lived in Canada and France), but Lhasa de Sela is so so great, if you’re not familiar. Check out the album La Llorona.
While Jerry Garcia was ethically, Mexican and inspired by traditional rhythms, that’s not what I’m looking for. I’m looking for authentic music made in Mexico.
