We went to see ToTP being filmed at Elstree in 1997. You could see a bit of the old Albert Square set from the queue. Also saw the Chuckle Brothers leaving in their camper van. They got a huge cheer from the queue.

Even more absolute-sceney: because the new one (lower right) is at a 90º anticlockwise rotation to the original, the sun now rises and sets in a different place in Walford.

You can see the same tower blocks from the building site in that as you can in the late 80's Grange Hill playground. Thus opening up some kind of Auf Wiedershen Pet expanded universe.

Also happened to watch the S1 ep where they escape the hotel through a window onto a flat roof a few days apart from an ep of Grange Hill where they climb out onto the flat roof and chuck stuff at Imelda a few days apart. Laughed my socks off.

Many films and TV programmes use the same stretches of "motorway" and twisty country road from the Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire - 'Unforgotten' even used their petrol station. Knowing the place a bit, it takes me out of the story every time.
