I think about this A LOT. Those people were really suffering. Not that Nazism was justifiable but it helped explain it. None of those things apply today. It’s insane

The Nazis rode into power on a successful Ad Campaign. They did a lot of propaganda work to get people to either invite them in, or be okay with them coming in.
The Algorithmically Enforced Media Bubbles have recreated those conditions... for only a part of the country.
Correct…affluenza distorts one’s vision. What’s hard from a messaging standpoint is that there are people who are suffering and could do a lot better with different policies. But I guess we went with the burn it all down option
The rank and file aren’t rich by and large, this is why alienation is the more cogent explanation. They suffer, they don’t have the tools to know what they suffer from, they listen to the strongman who says “It’s the jews” or whatever.
It’s for that reason I don’t think these fash will be able to get the brainwash deep enough to hold us down. They chose a time of minimal discomfort, so brainwash is more difficult to pull off.
I don’t mean to be cynical, but they’ve been killing the school system for four decades, gutting every social net they can find, took over OPM and just started firing randomly. “The brainwash” is beyond done already that we’re talking about how to prevent a QB sneak while Vick’s endzone dancin
I would guess that approaching half of the extant judiciary are outright fascists from fedsoc or some other nazi org, legal recourse is dead. Not only can they, but they DID get the brainwash to hold. That was all they needed it for, getting in. The rest they can do by themselves.
Yeah I’m not exactly optimistic about our prospects, but I do think they would have preferred a worse outcome post Covid or maybe some terror attacks as Black Swan event.
Gonna have to decline on road trips to then Deep South.
Inflation/devaluation of the currency in Weimar Germany had pretty much been fixed by the time the Nazis started getting more voters. The issue was Weimar suffered from a lack of popular legitimacy
Different cultures: They lived in a culture that valued the whole of society (see Kant, I.). We live in a culture that says the individual is worth more than the whole of society (see Rand, Ayn and Wayne, John). Things fall apart when people don't know how to be together.
Fastest growing post Covid economy. Lower inflation spike than Europe and an Inflation Reduction Act by Biden that was considered with envy by Europeans. This is the environment in which America gave it all up.

It’s not quite the same thing as hardships in Weimar Germany, but you know…
