it might just be mine, but lowkey walmart has become a pretty good place for groceries. Restaurant sauces and dupes, more international goods, a "bettergoods" line that is meant to be a trader joe's dupe. Forgive me for handing it to the Walton family but
We went to Texas and saw this in April! It was very exciting, we’re from Canada and were going to be camping for a couple days so it was amazing to get so many little sauces to try.
I look at many sauces and go “would I even like this stuff enough to merit X dollars and having a Y oz bottle staring at me in the fridge for years if I don’t?”
so tbh not a bad idea to offer trial size sauces to get people interested
I didn't actually mean to be a downer. It was meant to be you know. . . A funny observation about capitalism or something that probably fell short of the mark.
I may just be inexperienced in the world of sauces, but I gotta say - it's hard to beat the Walmart $1 Melinda's Fire Roasted Garlic Habanero. They're calling it "The People's Sauce"
I very rarely go to Walmart either, but a couple months ago they had a similar endcap but was discounted to .25! I grabbed like 20 different flavors of Melindas. What a country

My company imports a hot sauce (Thailand to South Africa) for 11c a bottle and sells it for $1
Just a total racket.
