I initially read the I in AI as a lowercase L and I thought this was going to be some horrifying mashup of Japanese and Arab animation and the stoning comment did not help my confusion.
I often have this problem, and it was extra disconcerting in this case! Bluesky needs to switch to Aptos or some other sans-serif font that distinguishes between capital I and lower-case l.
My four-year-old often has this problem as he's learning to read. It's not just BlueSky, literally every one of his books written for children doesn't seem to draw the distinction. I guess every typesetter using the English language has internalized the words so they no longer see the confusion.
I work with kids & they sign in & out on paper time sheets for their shifts The clock we have in the lobby where they do this is analogue w/ Roman numerals. I help a lot of them get paid for the proper hours. I feel like I’m teaching hieroglyphics
I am normally ACAB and against police brutality, but maybe Indian police got it right publically shaming those that broke COVID lockdown, and that we should publically humiliate people that think a Gibli AI is a good thing
I think all progressive minded Americans will likely end up learning what other left world leaders learned, to not flinch when accused of indoctrination when said indoctrination is intended to heal people's souls
Miyazaki-san has very publicly expressed his disdain at the soul-lessness of ai images so now a bunch of jerks have ganked his style to generate ai images.
I think I get this, that whole "offense to the human spirit" (I'm sure I'm getting the quote wrong. But I'm definitely on his side even if his art form is not my thing.
The disrespect of it, my lord. Next we’re gonna get an ai-generated reboot of Perfect Blue and these idiots are gonna use Kon’s death as a reason to do it.

The puppet one too
We lost that by imagining ourselves to be more enlightened.

But yeah. Beating people with rocks is good too.
