Until age of 5, variously: Summertown, Oxford; Crouch End; Washington DC & Connecticut. None of which, one imagines as having streets suitable for a deaf child under the age of 5 to roam at will. Then the Exmoor farm & Primrose Hill; before moving to Brussels when he was 9, then prep school & Eton.

Maybe kids these days are at home more, but then again when I was growing up there were no sports clubs I went to in an evening. My girls go to football, hockey, YFC etc. maybe they are not milling about outside but in org clubs.
