The Russian army is no longer powerful, and this is known by everyone, including its allies. Putin may pretend to maintain strength and trade technology with rogue states to create some nuance.
If you want to fully understand how America is a force of chaos and evil in the world, then I advise anyone to begin to understand who America backs, and why, and how they justify demonizing Islamic fundamentalist fighters in one year, then funding them in the next.
It is ugly, it is highly complex.
And Israel is an apartheid state hell bent on the ethnic cleansing and genocide and starvation of Palestinians in Gaza, with plans to do the same in the West Bank.
America supports Israel 100%, arming it, protecting it, shielding it from the worldβs condemnation.
Didn't Obama Sin Laden's 'Arab Spring' try this once already??? And didn't Obama Sin Laden send 1.7B USD to the terrorists doing it??? How'd that work out???
It's always good to see, but let's not forget that in this case, the cure is worse (wayyy worse) than the disease.
At some point, the West is gonna have to fight the rebels. Let's just hope the timing is really good, so Assad can't recover AND the rebels don't have time to assert their power.
Brilliant.. Fuck Assad, and the horse he rode in on. Tear them all down, then start with Russian monuments in all former USSR countries.. Sorry about language π€¬
Whats next? Do the rebels have a plan to govern? Sometimes the dog catches the car and does not known what to do. Hope they have a plan to govern and defend.
But better, without the use of an American military, itβs always more effective when change comes from within, without the appearance of foreign interference.
Now hope this is change with good intentions.
Where are all the MAGAts who rail at confederate statues being pulled down because βthey teach historyβ and βtheyβre artβ and βthey honor heritage?β
They would if they could, the issue with that is the other resistance groups who will likely disagree and the islamists do not have the power base of the current regime so for now the important part is the fall of the Asad regime.
Today the western liberals cheer the Islamists on.
Tomorrow when the boats of Syrian refugees arrive once more on European shores and the angry populations vote for fascist governments to stop immigration, they will all weep and wail and whimper
Giggle "greater israel patch on idf uniforms" and you get the story with the picture you used which claims Israel banned them, but if you go to images you see the patch.
RUZZZZIANS - TAKE A GOOD LOOK WHAT THE POWER OF PEOPLE CAN DO ..... YOU'VE HAD 25 YEARS TO DO SOMETHING OF THIS CALIBER ...... but instead- you decided it was easier to let others die fighting YOUR EVIL, YOUR REGIME, YOUR TERRORISTS ! I, for one, am sick of everyone and everything RUZZZIAN !!~!
While Al-Assad is a monster, the jihaddist rebels may not be any better. This is complex, and this is my take as a veteran who deployed to these places. In my opinion, just b/c Russia is our adversary does not mean we side with every opposition group.
It would be very difficult for the rebels to top Assad for some time even if they were all Islamic extremists, given that Assad has been responsible for some of the worst atrocities in the Middle East. He has long deserved this, it's going to happen if it happens anyway, and nobody else is doing it.
Fair. I would be cautious though throwing whole hearted support behind the rebels. I can applaud Assadβs defeat while at the same time being cautious of the future for Syria. I hope the Syrian people as a whole are one day able to determine their own futures.
I think this is going to be great for Ukraine, so I'm willing to cheer for now until I see everything going south after they win. The war propaganda in Russia is heavily whitewashed, but Putin can't hide that he's losing proxies for long. This is an extremely problematic situation for him.
Absolutely. Having covered the war in Syria for years, from inside Syria, I would suggest folks be carful what they wish for. With that said, keep in mind there was 11 years of drought in Syria leading up to 2012 (cont)
This drought resulted in the collapse of 80 percent of agriculture and the economy Iβm predominantly Sunni rural areas. The foundation of this uprising was based in this failure of the Assad govt to respond the climate crisis that was unfolding (cont)
Sadly the FSA forces are still made of ardent anti-semites and religious fanatics. I see it weird that Iran's Hezbollah is fighting them. They must be in the same camp. It looks like there's a third party who makes sure the war never ends. My bet is on Moscow.
That is not my experience at all. I am not saying you are wrong but my time with the FSA, about 2 years, told a different tale. Being a Jew myself, this was a relief to say the least
This was in reply to a repost with great enthusiasm and applaud emojis. I wanted to make it clear that itβs a win in the sense Putin is losing. But itβs a double-edged sword.
Great! A kick in the Russian/Iranian pants. As long as the rebels don't go full IS/Taliban. Diversity and toleration reigned when Aleppo was formerly under rebel, anti-Assad control. Can they do it again?
The first one absolutely will, but that second one? They've been pushing hard on making that socially normal and acceptable for the last 8+ years now, and I hate to say it, but it seems they're winning that one. π₯Ί
Might be- Assad deserves it, but he other side is an even worse "gift" to human kind - ISIS incarnated... I keep my fingers crossed that civilians will be kept out of this.
Nationalising Trump Organization considering all the crimes they committed and they'll commit since now they have no consequences for their actions seems sensible π
In fact, this is the end of the fate of all dictators who, at the height of their power, do not want to predict these days
Taking down the statue reminded me of Saddam and Gaddafi.
You do realise that these guys are associated with al kaideβ¦ be careful who youβre championing, this is all part of the gameβ¦ there is no right side, itβs all a mess.
Ah the age old reason, Russia wanting to get to the med... I have no idea how this will go, there are so many vested interests... I just feel bad for the people that live there... On one side you have Russia, on the other side you have israil, go figure βΉοΈ
I was in Hungary this summer. A family friend runs his hand on a statue of Jesus then rubs his hip to heal it. My Dad said it doesnβt hurt anyone. I disagree. The lack of knowledge of our reality causes strong forces to take over easily. Kind of a weird connection, I know.π€ͺ
In The US, More Confederate Statues And Monuments Are Falling Down, And I Hope It Doesn't Stop Until They Are All Gone. Confederacy Was The First Instance Of TREASON The US Faced Until FelonTrump Came To Town
Unfortunate that all of the gains from a weakened Russia due to the work of President Biden will be undone by the piece of shit Putin loving Felon-elect Trump
The saying really points to the inevitability of change (restated as, βwhat goes up must come downβ).
The only question is whether we want to start from scratch to build statue AND pedestal, or just the statue to put on top of a perfectly-good pedestal & base.
Thank you! I never interpreted it that way. The saying was quite popular in my youth, but we always cited it as a deeply cynical view: the regime may change, but it is unlikely to bring a change for you. The new will just step in the shoes of the ousted.
Yeah, I suspect weβre saying same thing, as reflected in political interpretation I posted (like many citizens raised in a satellite Nation of USSR (eg Poland), Lec was deeply cynical & nihilistic of Kremlin Central Party, knowing communist talk about collective ownership was just empty rhetoric).
Judging by the color, it seems to be made out of bronze, so no, it didn't break.
It will probably be melted, if the rebels, or whoever comes after Assad, keep control long enough.
Good for Ukraine of course, but these "Freedom fighters"are some of the worst people on Earth.Al-Qaeda,Al-Nusra and ISIS.If they establish a Caliphate in Syria the Region is in big trouble.Putin losing his"Colony"might mean those Soldiers end up in Ukraine instead.
They have nothing to do with ISIS and they were fighting with Isis. They are pro-turkish. And if Putin loses this colony it means cheap gas and oil for Europe - and that is the end of Putin
The main groups fighting Assad are Al-Qaeda,Al-Nusra,Islamic State and Syrian Kurds.
Unless the Syrian Kurds seize Power nothing Good will come out of this.
If they were ISIS, they wouldn't be allying with Non-Isis faction, saying that "Syria is a patchwork of cultures and religion" , be supported by Turkey, or let lical civil governement administer the territory. They even fough against Al-Qaeda.
Though they are radical islamist, may be very dangerous.
Hey,it's like Game of Thrones with these fractions in Syria,if they find a strong leader to unite under they will form their Caliphate and terrorize the Region for years under the Banner of Islam.
Yes, So Historic... I Wonder how many have DIED from being struck by falling bullets, with All the Ignorant Fucks shooting in the air???
The Stupid... It Burns!!!
The people Assad is fighting are literal ISIS era terrorists. You are cheering on people who would commit the Holocaust if they got the chance. Assad is literally one of the only people in Syria who isn't doing this.
Millions upon millions of Syrians fled Syria and now live everywhere but Syria due to Assad and Putin. So Assad cannot be the hero here. Also, didnβt Assad use chemical weapons against Syrians?
First of all, ISIS was funded by the US to bring instability in the middle east, so it's hardly Assad's fault. Second of all, that second statement has no substantial proof.

It is ugly, it is highly complex.
Ruzzian is a terrorist, tyrannical, colonial, oppressive state.
End ruzzian colonialism!
You are about to witness the greatest evils of America to come
America supports Israel 100%, arming it, protecting it, shielding it from the worldβs condemnation.
There are no saints here.

When two cults fight, the winner is anyone who isn't in a cult, until the number of cult members is zero.
No God would make this landfill prison planet, and no one should rule it.
HTS would, with 100% certainty implement full, hardcore, Taliban-like Sharia law
Make it make sense for me

β how did this happen β
πͺ
Look at the map of "Greater Israel" which the IDF wears on their uniforms
The rebels in Syria are Al Qaeda, if you remember them, if not Google September 11 2001.
It is 100% FACT even if Israel now bans them

Love it.
No way Russia has the capacity to fight three wars at once. We may finally be seeing the beginning of the end of Putin's Russia.
We've also quietly been helping in Syria. JSOC stuff. That will end, too.
Ukraine already made operations completely untenable at Sevastopol, now they may be losing their only port in the Med!
Their base under construction in Abkhazia is probably looking very shaky now as well...
Understanding what unfolded, outside of the extremists, would be beneficial for all
Thank you for your wise words
IMO, the idea that we MUST side with one side or the other in conflicts is the source of a lot of evil.
I hope no one was killed by the celebratory gunfire!! π²
1. The Economy is going to get better with Trump
2. He will make it OK to be a racist POS
Both of these will be proven false.
It never is.
Taking down the statue reminded me of Saddam and Gaddafi.
Aleppo in three days β
We are yet to see what Trump does.

Are you paying attention, Vlad?
History made in tearing a statue down.
Bringing down statues leave the pedestals.
They may come in handy.
The only question is whether we want to start from scratch to build statue AND pedestal, or just the statue to put on top of a perfectly-good pedestal & base.
ill-douche and his ilk should bear that in mind.
It will probably be melted, if the rebels, or whoever comes after Assad, keep control long enough.
