No, it is not weird. Not at all. He will always be your Dad. I did that till the day my Pa passed 10 years ago. I miss him every day. Enjoy all the times you can tell him something you are proud of... 🥰
That sounds like me. (I’m 56) Guaranteed delighted dad reaction. Wonderful. I loved making my dad proud. Sadly, he died in May. I miss him so very much. Enjoy telling your dad your good news while you still have him XX
Of course not, he loves you more than anyone, loves to hear, not only your achievements but anything at all you want to share with him. He's your biggest fan! (just like mine was)
I'm 40 and do this bc my dad and I had a horrible relationship when I was a kid and now he's one of my favorite people so it just feels good to get to share and hear him be proud of me.
you’re so lucky. i had a bad relationship with my dad up until he died far too young. you sound like you love him very much and you shouldn’t be embarrassed or ashamed. we need to love each other at times like this tbh
I think it's great. I could have found the cure for cancer and the last person I'd have told was my dad. He'd have said nothing until he found a way to take the shine off it. Just enjoy having a lovely dad. It's wonderful.
