This is why I have an absolutely iron clad habit of “making sure the catcher is always in place before I hand the pitcher the ball.” I feel like systems people have absolutely paranoid ticks like this because they or someone they paired with hit some insane event ordering and it cost them days.
TBF, if someone completed the herculean task of creating a PC that behaved entirely as expected, every computer nerd would line up around the block to buy it.
Thats actually quite amusing. If you read the Linux Programming Interface, that will all pretty much make (at least some) sense. Signals and IPC are FUN! 🫠
