Co-sign this. What I find in Belief is often shorter than in Interpretation. Interpretation is older — and Belief volumes sometimes reference them. Hare’s volume is good

Generally I’m a fan of the Two Horizons series. I can’t vouch for the Matthew volume because I haven’t read it, but I’d be willing to bet that it’s a good one. Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture is another excellent series. But it all kind of depends on what you’re looking for in a commentary.

I've always gained insights from Eduard Schweizer's commentaries on the synoptics from the John Knox Press.
