Proud to have been in this crowd estimated at 70000. This is Cal Anderson Park in Seattle. During my hours there I never saw a police presence. Right on!

The local protest in my small city numbered only in the hundreds, but there was a strong feeling among the crowd that we were on the moral side of history; and the overwhelmingly positive response by onlookers (including a few random deliveries of bottled water) spoke to that.
The small protests, warm my heart just as much as the large ones. Speaking out in any rural town takes guts! With such tight-knit communities, it takes a true conviction to speak out against the trend/tradition. For many, being Republican is a family tradition & Dems are thought of as sacrilegious.
The sentient fragment of Trump's mind must be so grateful to Israel & Iran for kicking off this weekend & grabbing the news away from his disastrous parade & the millions who took part in No King demos.
If he had half a functioning brain cell remaining, I might think he had organised it himself.
That's AWESOME. So glad it all went in peacefully, apart from police in LA firing teargas & flashbangs into the crowd, TOTALLY UNNECESSARILY!! They obviously haven't read the 1st Amendment!
San Antonio, same vibe. Police smiling as they blocked traffic. Natl. guard, nowhere to be seen. They’re housed at a pretty posh hotel, though thought to be haunted.
The rest of the entire country showed us that sheriff’s national guards and Marines were not necessary. All were peaceful. In LA Shitler deployed his army. was the only place that experienced rubber bullets tear gas because of county sheriffs on horseback, pushing people back and trampling them.
Somewhat similar in Dallas. There were barricades with cars, or maybe an officer only. Crowd assembled then once in that area people were kind, And there was really not a big need for police
you don't just shut down streets, arrange security for the POTUS, https://et.al , arrange flyovers, line up speakers and put hardware on display after 20 minutes of planning the week of the event.
Your treasonous cult leader is imprisoning college students for months for exercising their First Amendment right to political speech, and his ICE Gestapo thugs are kidnapping people and sending them to a brutal torture prison with NO DUE PROCESS. If you're OK with that you hate the Constitution.
Oh, did you miss my first comment? Sorry, I’ll say it again: What made you think he ever had a say in allowing or forbidding these protests? Cos you know, to me, allowing and forbidding something without some sort of y’know, due process? Sounds pretty monarchical.
I felt honored to be there, it was pure togetherness and motivation. I saw one officer on a bike and that was it, this is what peaceful protest looks like.
Very peaceful vibes and no police in Seattle. I did see a couple of 2nd Amendment creeps in Camo but I think they stayed quiet because it was obvious they would have been dogpiled upon if they reached into their backpacks for whatever crazy shit they were packing.
Coming from U.K. to Seattle soon for a few days before a cruise. As I expected we are visiting a sane part of the US. Not sure what I will do if I see MAGA hats on board the Queen Elizabeth… maybe they’ll go overboard. The hats that is.
Hey Doug! It's "CircleGirlStandsWithUkraine" from Twitter days. Wondered if you'd come over to Bluesky. I've made the Lime Cilantro dressing recipe you gave me. How have you and the dogs been?
Hi lady! How've you been. I've been on this site since the election. Hubs and are are doing pretty well. I'm struggling with continued heart woes, but working diligently on it. Sadly, Claude and Lulu were set free at 15 1/2. I couldn't ask them for more time. It really has gutted us.
I've been down for the count since November. First the election. Caught some virus right before Thanksgiving (not Covid or flu) that I finally got rid of in March. Now sciatica for a month. Things can only get better! Sad to hear you lost your pups. Hope the heart keeps on ticking.
I know we’re no where the size but in Centralia we didn’t see one cop until the local cops drove by giving the protesters a thumbs up and smiling. We had around 500-750 people which is great for such a small deeply red area.
same thing in Loveland Ohio. about 300 people in a deeply red county. no police until halfway through. even then the officer remained in his cruiser and not one incidence of violence occurred.
700 in Centralia means as much if not more than 70,000 in Seattle. All the pictures of people standing up for what's right in front of their neighbors and friends in so, so many smaller conservative communities fills me with awe and hope!
The only violence I witnessed was that of the LAPD and LASD against uniformly PEACEFUL protesters. The police, and especially the SHERIFFS, were trying to provoke a problem that did not exist. SHAMEFUL.
Went to the Sacramento rally. Only saw police at a street crossing I think making sure no cars tried to break through. Peaceful and large group of protesters.
I don’t think those two things are mutually exclusive. Having said that, I met many who identify as Rs at my rally/demonstration. I hope that the tide will turn, but I fear not soon enough.

I have watched what seems like hundreds of videos of these "NO KINGS" demonstrations and in the only ones with any 'violence' in them, the police are causing the violence.
I went to one yesterday, we were about 20k strong. It was a peaceful protest but the energy was palpable, the signs, the chanting “hey hey Donald Trump has got to go”, the music…literally brought me to tears, yes… it gave me renewed hope in humanity 💙
Seattle did a great job! Lots of small neighborhood protests of people who couldn’t make it downtown. We had about 300 just in the West Seattle junction. I handed out flags there. I don’t know if they added Red Square to the total because there were 5-10,000 more there at the indivisible protest.
If the est. # at the No Kings protest showed up @ the polls, we’d not just protest we’d prevail. He lost the pop. vote, won via Electoral Coll. We’re the majority. W/ turnout = action, we cd vote them all out. Protest is power, but ballots seal the fate. History is watching. If #‘s = votes, we’d win
This warms my heart a lot. I will be travelling to Seattle for work soon and while I didn't expect that Seattle would be a city where there would be trouble, I'm still a little nervous about the trip.
“Never saw a police presence”. it’s almost as if we dont need the police except for when looking for a missing person or the rare instance where the police protect you from other more corrupt police.
that’s giving loveland too much credit. all that cop would have seen is people being civil and the occasional magat flipping off sign holders . There’s more action at a little league baseball game than was going on here.
The point is people are naive and ignorant if they think the cops aren't infiltrating protests. People need to learn how to spot them bc they're usually not this well behaved. You can't trust the cops so you need to be aware that they're around you. The cops weren't there to protect you.
I was, too! 1 1/2 mile long march per the police! On the entire route I saw one firetruck (someone fell and hit his head) and one police car about a block away. Obviously there was great coordination closing the streets. In contrast, on the White Coats for Black Lives march (doctors and nurses!)
The police presence at one of the van wa ones was of solidarity. They offered the park next to the police precinct as a place to gather, and they stayed as far away as needed. Protesters were seen taking selfies with officers. They weren't there as a show of force, but rather there in solidarity.
We saw some Sheriffs in what appeared to be non-militaristic “outreach” outfits and who wished us all a good day. It was what you’d hope interaction with law enforcement would be for every American, all the time.

They only hire the best.
The real danger is someone coming after lawmakers, shooting them. But Trump doesn't care about that either.
I have decided to keep the TV off and watch updates from people out and about.

💪🏼 ⚖️ 💖 Thank you, fellow patriots, for peaceful resistance & 📢Speaking Out to protect democracy‼️
Portland did the same, kept the Police as traffic control. That's the way to do it with peaceful protests (during daylight hours).

WHY NOT TAKE HIM TO THE ZOO NEXT WEEK?
This is the way to do it.
Demonstrate in orderly fashion is the correct way.
Don’t be like the f*cked up mob on January 6th or some of the violent LA protestors.
