Been saying that for years. One of the things that really pisses me off about Marvel, the way they taught an entire generation of people to worship this vainglorious technocrat. "He knows what's best for us all, even if he's the cause of most of our problems."
I feel like Justin Hammer was closer to the mark in Iron Man 2, except that Sam Rockwell, when with all his incredible acting skills, couldn't be as much of an utter dork
RDJR for years has talked insightfully about “the myth of the good billionaire” & its relationship to comics so I’m wondering — besides being a multiversal Earth’s counterpart to Start, besides being essentially mirror-Stark — who specifically will his Doom remind us of? I wouldn’t be surprised.
yeah but Tony's been successful in business, had only one child with one woman, made inventions that work, dealt with his addictions and has an actual friend who genuinely likes him.
Counterpoint: what if he decided to make an iron man suit and it also caught on fire and then subsequently locked him inside while sinking beneath the surface of a lake
I'd suggest roasting marshmallows but the only vegan brand I know is union busting and I don't have the heart to stop boycotting while the NLRB is still warm
