It works OK as an improvement to the autocomplete feature that was already a part of coding editors. You hit tab and it inserts its suggestion when it is correct and you ignore it when it isn’t. But the 99% of AI that’s ultra-shitty has me saying ditch it. Too insignificant to justify all this.

A programmer I trust 100% told me there's AI that can answer code questions/suggest solutions and it's very often right and can save a huge amount of time. But the key is it can be tested immediately. You try the solution and find out then and there if it works. You don't just plug it in and ship.

I work in an industry where we use some AI tools that are really helpful! And it works with very discrete sets of data and is very checkable and requires lots of human input. Meanwhile, the top suggested AI response from GMail when a client asks me a question is “I have no idea.”
