Yes! It's a masoretic note on every appearance of the word וישלחם in Tanach. I think it starts from one of the claws.

I was completely unaware of this tradition. Was also unaware that the Torahs included information about word counts and such that served as a verification of accuracy, which is absolutely wonderful to know is.

I didn’t wanna say that precisely since, as mentioned above, itdoesn’t guarantee things like spelling, punctuation or word positioning, so checksums wouldn’t match, but I was thinking it could qualify as a form of diff.

To be absolutely clear, the word counts/lists of forms mostly existed to aid scribes make sure they were copying things correctly; they are much more recent than the text or even the exact spelling they're intended to document.
