BECAUSE (say it with me, kids):
Abortion bans are not only a violation of the 14th Amendment, but the 1st Amendment as well. You cannot enshrine one specific religious perspective into law and impose it upon an entire diverse nation of people.

A lawsuit by three Jewish women seeking to overturn Kentucky’s laws banning abortions has gained more attention since in vitro fertilization clinics in Alabama shut down after a state Supreme Court ruling in that state.

The foundation of Christianity relies on the abortifacient aromatic of the Crocus Sativus, Saffron.
Notice the pillar capitals of this Samaritan representation of the Temple. See the 'lemons.'
Then, notice the volutes of the proto-Aeolic pillar capital of the City of David.
In the below Rennes-le-Chateau relief, you can see that the pillar capital has fallen, and this capital displays the concealed tradition.
Oh.
"Life begins at conception" is a fatuous statement from a scientific perspective, but it IS a clear theological statement; and many Americans do not share that theological background.
Abortion was not illegal nationwide until around 1920.
The 9th Amendment protects Unenumerated Rights, like healthcare.
There may be a right to healthcare conferred by some other source. There may not be. The 9th Amend simply leaves that option open.
Don’t forget that before the 1920’s abortion was not illegal across the United States.
And the pesky 9th Amendment prohibits an Abortion Ban but no one seems to want to tilt that windmill
[marks another tick in their Hypocrisy counter]
Who knew?
But a lot more people will get raped
a) Trans men & some nonbinary ppl need abortion access too
b) 1 in 5 women experience sexual assault
c) Abortion bans include life-saving care for wanted pregnancies-- you know that, right?
d) Women ARE allowed sexual pleasure
e) the problem is patriarchy
And oh boy do they get mad when you point that out.

Also, in practice, I wonder how it's enforced -- how do they prevent a doctor from saying "Here's some bullshit the clowns in the legislature require me to tell you. Afterward I'll explain why it's bullshit"?

So, much like with a lot of crap these zealots throw, they don't even deserve the Bible they keep thumping all day long.

I feel a nuance lost on many is the difference between Life, Soul, and Consciousness. I certainly do not claim to have answers, other than I think the differences are critical.
Too, for the Judeo-Xian talk, the latter’s opposed to tikkun olam which says everything.
(I have only the most cursory knowledge of thousand-year-old Jewish philosophers/jurists.)
