Fast forward 45 yrs, this is how we got to this point.
We have consistently failed to rise to our own expectations.
All of this? Perfectly comprehensible, if you're soberly analyzing who we actually are. Shameful, cruel, ugly? Yes, *that* is who we are. We aspire to be better because we're not.
Both these things are true at the same time.
Dp yourself a favour and move along. No-one wants you here.

When they moved to another state, he had to relearn the history of the War of Yankee Aggression,
which apparently had to do with slavery and not just economics and Yankees.
Today? In TX schools you still can't teach that it was all about slavery.
