Isn't it insane that our neighbor, the "beacon on the hill" is no longer a country of rule of law, even for white people. It's never been rule of law for non-whites, but now it's everyone and it's flagrant. The mind boggles.

Yes. We are definitely a great country but I think we could learn some stuff from some other countries - like some Scandinavian countries. Which would make us an even better country. And of course we are already better than the US.
Yes, I support my Canadian neighbors 100000000% but I try to warn them that some of their rhetoric sounds a bit nationionalist and that is a slippery slope.
After living through 2 years of the leader of the conservative party of Canada saying that Canada is broken and it is one of the worst countries in the world I find it quite refreshing to see people standing up and saying "no bud, we're one of the best countries in the world."
Knowing your country is statistically *one*of the best countries of the world and being proud of that is different from just saying your country is literally the best and everyone else sucks even with evidence to the contrary. But it is a thin line, just be careful 🥰.
I have been seeing a lot of hate rhetoric from Canadians towards uSA which I have never seen before and it is reminisant of the rhetoric here as well. It is sad how hate spreads. We are all humans. And most of us have no real control over international politics.
I'll lived in three US/Canada border states: Alaska, Washington, and Vermont, and I can attest to the fact that the adjacent Canadian provinces are populated with lovely people...SO worth fighting for.

I wished I lived in Canada instead of the states. Canada is a country with both amazing people and amazing natural beauty and a government that truly values both. I am ashamed to be an American now. I guess what I feel is what the Germans felt when they realized what a monster Hitler was.

We live in a country that has its issues, but we're trying our best to tackle things that make us look bad on the world stage (TRC.) We're willing to address it openly, which is significant. We're not the best or the greatest, but we're always working to be better, and that's worth fighting for. 🇨🇦
