I remember a few years back seeing ads for grammarly and their generative AI to write your assignments for university. Now, I see grammarly advertising to graduate interns to help write stuff for work because they never gained those skills in college.

I disagree. The potential of AI for practical things is huge. Unfortunately, it's squandered by hacks with no skill that want a title without any of the work.
Artificial Intelligence. Meaning an intelligence that is created artificially. An algorithm that turns white noise into slop images is not intelligent.
As for "potential"? Algorithms are already everywhere and used regularly. *These* algorithms are especially shit however.
Though it's unlikely that humanity will use AI for actual benefits. Computers could already help us do the same thing without AI, but it's also wasted by rich greedy douchebags looking to make a quick buck.

But looking beyond the useless slop, AI has proven that it can tackle certain tasks much faster than a human can. That could be of great benefit if we aim it at necessary tasks no one wants to do.

I always will block AI bs. I prefer artwork to have A SOUL. Not something stripped/stolen from other creators, then rehashed into an algorithmic idea of what the input/image should look like. If you use AI to draw for you: You're Stealing. Period.
