About that #ClimateEmergency?
"OpenAI has called for 5-gigawatt data centers, large enough to power entire cities."
We have to make choices. So-called AI is NOT "in the cloud", but trashing the Earth

That said, these AI farms still need to stop.
It's very good at filtering information out (but, not as good as humans, just much faster, there's a net gain in efficiency).
It's extremely weak on concepts.

AI Utopians: "It will free up humans to do higher order tasks."
Me: "Like what exactly? Give me an example because it's already doing creative jobs, we're not all going to be managers and strategic leaders, so what are these higher order tasks?"
AI Utopians: "....."
Beyond the niche applications, the question remains.
Historically, smaller corps are more nimble and more innovative (and treat their workers better).
ATM, what AI does best is data filtering to create summaries. So... crypto speculation, investment strategy, data harvesting on every person on the planet, business management, and chat bots.🤨
Huge corps don't have a great track record for innovation compared to smaller ones.
