Really proud of my friend Brendan Farrington for making his fight with United Health Care to get his prescribed cancer treatments public.
It shouldn't take this much for them to do the right thing.

The more we all know, the more likely that Congress will be shamed into doing something about this.
I’m Sorry for his diagnosis-
(I quit wine, processed foods, can cause cancer)
BF-he sounds a tad self-serving!
Maybe combine his plea w/a Vet.
w/ cancer fighting & being rejected by medicare advantage (UHC).

Although I am grateful for what his insurance does cover, if we didn't pay the $20k, I guess they'd just let him die.
Every time someone gives us their testimony, let's announce online, then cut/paste and send to our elected officials!
Sending love and strength.
You'll get through this. I did. And now I can barely remember it.
Praying the same for you.💞
and it was free of charge with the Canadian healthcare system

You pay taxes for these services.
Do you know how much you would pay for comparable coverage in the U.S.?
You’re taking one example and generalizing across two countries without any data to back up your comments.
we all know what happens to the CEO a couple weeks ago.
The U.S. healthcare is a business to make money for their shareholders and CEO. Canada and 31 others developed countries is designed to save lives.
You don’t know how much of your tax bill goes to health care and you don’t know how much equivalent coverage costs in the U.S.
Not only that, every province has different coverages, some have fees.
I live in the U.S. for over 30 years I’m well aware of the system they’re having. I’ve my fair share in taxes in the United States as well
and health insurance for myself and my family plus out of pocket for deductible.
He begins treatments. Only one knee at a time paid. Denied the other.
Why is there rage, you ask?
Patients over profits 😡
Time to socialize healthcare and separate it from employment.
If you know the result, could you post an update?
Summed it all up 😔
Unfortunately, you have to publicly shame them into paying for your healthcare. I know physicians who’ll advocate for their patients by commenting on insurances’ social media & even LinkedIn. And it works.
Once went at it w/ insurance re where my wife could deliver. Phone call, short version
"I'll write you a letter stating you refuse access to her doctor & hospital, and accept unlimited liability for any result"
"But our policy..."
"We'll see what a jury says"
Solved in 24 hrs

For a broader perspective, I’m a healthcare provider, counselor, tiny practice. I have an insurance company claiming I was “overpaid” by $91,000 & demanding money back. They picked through 3 yrs of documentation & found idiotic “issues.”
These companies harm everyone but shareholders.
Counselors and therapist cant get a return, they’ve already done the good work!
We'll give you 2... Next.'
They will literally undercut life itself, and the actual arguable point of their own existence as a business.
We can, EASILY do better. Easily.
It will cost less. It is a no brainer.

No one should experience what ur friend is, despicable, inflicting torture onto human beings.
ME, cancer free today, if I had the cash I'dd fund it all... and Musk is a pig, our reality could be so different w/out the disease of Greed.
It’s outrageous that any insurance company would deny lifesaving treatment.
I have been receiving monthly cancer treatments for 16 years that is 192 infusions and some of them were twice a month. I have Humana and never had a problem with them trying to prevent me from getting infusions.
Friend gets MRI. All good.
400 days later, UHC denies payment.

It’s “administrative violence” that could be construed on par physical violence.
Many years ago, when my wife was 95% disabled with a condition "not on their list," we didn't apply because we didn't have the stomach for it.
Also UHC: “Fuck you and your Oncologist’s recommendation of aggressive treatment for an aggressive cancer so that you might selfishly live”
Unfuckingbelievable.
The "medical review physician" for my the 5 yr old son's needed brain surgery was...an Ob/Gyn.
I need to create a file to add to the 'erase your student debt by demanding copies of original loan documents' advice
1) If you have an iPhone, you can add a caption to the photo. Captions are searchable
2) I was able to lift out the entire text block and paste it into the Alt text field. Copy text, email to self
3) print and file it
4) leave a breadcrumb in phone notes or contacts.
You can find your insurers appeal process on their website.
When you mail the ins company anything, have it sent as registered mail with a signed return receipt. You can also get a stamp p ed receipt for sending any letters.
