Amazing. We manage to count all votes from even the most remote places in about 36 hours including dealing with all recounts, postal votes and dealing with any disputed ballot papers. We even manage to negotiate and agree a coalition govt if need be. All in a faster time the USA counts all votes.
Posted these same numbers on X and very funny to see the very different reactions in both places. The echo chamber over there cannot deal with the pretty basic fact that Trump’s win was both historic and compelling and yet not in any traditional sense, a landslide and a bit narrower than it looked.
There was nothing in your post to warrant such responses. These people feel more and more enabled to act like this. I had enough of that place when I watched a disabled man being mocked and abused for stating who he wanted to win. That should not be accepted anywhere.

I think it's based on projections because they know it'll take weeks to count all the ballots, that combined with each state having its own counting method. It would be like Newcastle and Sunderland having a different way of counting
Two things Dems did which are deeply regrettable now the pigeons are aroost:
-HRC's hints in the run up to the 16 election that it might not be fair
-suggesting that winning the EC somehow is not what confers legitimacy.
In that context, Trump's mandate *this time* can be presented as super strong.
Interesting that it was like the election here. Overall a slim margin but a landslide in seats. The disconnect be right wing commentators is that Starmer is in a weak position but Trump should be able to behave like God.
Sadly, I think this runs to the core of the problems in US politics. There are only 'winners & losers'. There is no longer any nuance, greyness & hence willingness to compromise. Trump needs to crash & burn, to restore some sanity!!
Same with Brexit. Those who supposedly 'won' something get very angry and tell you to stop talking about it ever again. When I've won something I usually enjoy it when people refer back to it.
So the 'saviour' of the USA is not actually as popular as he claims.
The surprise is overwhelming...well, it is for MAGA, but it is a relief for everyone else.
This sounds like another example of an efficient vote, doesn't it?
Similar to Labour at the GE. Only getting votes where they will deliver seats, and nowhere else.
What is interesting is that X has fallen in to the 8chan Trap unlike say Kiwifarms 8chan was a place where absolute freedom of speech ended up creating a place where people would post all the worst things on the net with total aninimity and those two things made it a place where anything could
I'll only be happy when I feel represented and that my views are truly listened to and taken into account. That does not happen in politics.
Right now, we vote and are completely forgotten about. If you are happy with the system, all the power to you.
Apparently we’re cowards who won’t listen to other people’s opinions which have no facts to back them up but lots of persuasive words of abuse. Do they listen to us and our facts and inconvenient evidence and reliable science?

What the hell is the point?
It's not like they're going to get to the end and say "you know what, actually Trump didn't win, Harris did!"
😂

1️⃣ dramatic headlines sell better than nuance
2️⃣ much of the media supports Trump
3️⃣ other media is sucking up to the bully

Although couldn’t see that approach taking off in the US.

Also, engagement there vs. here exposes the algorithmic ‘differences’, let’s say.
Any chance you could pop over to the States and help them??
