Incredible performance from McCartney at the O2. Nearly three hours, in his ninth decade. Felt wistful, nostalgic even elegiac but never sentimental. What a man.

Lennon lived with his Aunt Mimi in a more well off suburb of Liverpool that was about 15 minutes walk away from McCartney, but his beginnings were very much working class.
Frank Skinner was talking about this on his pod as he’d gone to their houses managed by the National Trust. McCartney lived in the family council house after they’d broken through until 1964
I've lived in Liverpool all me life and I've never been to any of the houses. Although I do drive past John's everyday and pass through the Penny Lane area - which believe me is very cringe if you've got the car window down while sitting at the lights and Penny Lane starts playing on the radio.

But he writes good songs and you have to admire his stamina.
