You are missing one major group: The American people. They don't think the decisions they make on where to live are their fault when natural disasters destroy their homes. They too have to take responsibility.
How about blaming Voters who have failed to elect People who understand science and Climate Change. People willing to work toward finding ways to limit and cope with our changing Climate? Get angry at those causing this.
California’s building codes prevent massive disasters when earthquakes happen; these happened in the 1900s. In this century we need to update our building codes to prevent massive disasters when fires occur.
It’s inexcusable that we build houses that are so much more flammable than the forest!
Capitalism is going to let
California down.
Thousands of people are now
without homes or cars.
Most of their wealth was in
home equity, and now the
insurance companies are
going to fuck them over.
It's a legit problem that the average (dumb AF) voter exists in a state of confusion where "woke firefighters", "water management issues", and climate change are all legit causes for the fire up for debate and discussion.
Guy used to be on the radio in SF-Bill Wattenburg. Smart guy. 'CA will burn to the ground in 30 years due to eco policy...' was a common topic. He was saying this in the 80's/90's. Not saying CC isn't also involved, but that's a hell of a prediction b4 CC was as big a part of the ethos as now.
He didn't promote it on Twitter and Ken is a pretty, sometimes hilariously, shameless promoter. He also ignored all the "wtf dude?" posts trying to understand why he did it.
idk if your ask is fr but antifascists broadly hold that you don’t go on fash platforms or bring them onto yours bc it serves only to legitimize them + bring your audience to those spaces. you leave them sidelined.
i’m yelling neither. it part of the natural cycle in the western united states having zero to do with climate change in this case, and it would have been insane and professional malpractice for politicians to structure a city around an extremely rare event.
California is the sixth largest economy in the world. They produce more technological innovation than every other state in the union, and most countries. The fact that this is an all hands on deck moment for the entire world—except Republicans—is beyond shameful, it’s immoral.
And I'm not quite sure what people expect. It isn't reasonable to believe that horrifically destructive fires aren't going to happen, given the location, climate change, etc. Even if there's some perfect solution, good human beings are still just humans--not perfect.
Yes, Americans keep electing politicians who do nothing on the climate. The GOP has actively denied science and put us all in harms way but pay no price for this.
The Trad media is paid for and they are equally culpable.
Call Republicans Climate Destroyers which is factually accurate.
Only both bc politicians ignored global warming and/or sandbagged efforts to cut use of fossil carbon fuels (coal oil gas). Really only one base cause.
24 lbs of co2 produced from every gallon of gas in your car. CO2 up 50% in last ~100 years. Yeah it’s warmer duh.
Of course. If our politicians weren't so useless, we wouldn't even be screaming about how dire climate change is as disaster after disaster simultaneously tears up different regions of the world at ever-increasing rates of intensity
We have a really well funded, prepared, and trained forest fire team up here in BC. There's a certain point where it doesn't matter how well managed they are, the realities of climate change is disasters are growing on a scale they can't control. Better resources/government help mitigate this but...
Yeah we do, and it's true, obviously fire is unpredictable and with the wind and heat etc we're not getting an easy run rn, but to say no politicians are to blame when they are directly to blame for the climate crisis... ya know, let's not be conspiracy nuts here, but they are kinda at fault lol
Also not having privatized the power grid 4 a massive urban center woulda helped🤗Almost like CA(much less TX) learned nothin from Enron📉re: not having ⚡️4profit esp.(w/it’s vulnerability2 attack)as six“regulated”, investor-owned electric utilities (IOUs); PG&E(felon),Southern California Edison etc.
Or - maybe let’s not worry about blame at the moment and focus all of our energy on the people that are still in very real danger. The Internet has proven that there will be tons of time to blame people later.
I agree that politicians could do better to lead the fire prevention efforts, but I think it all comes down to local community. If you live in fire prone area, fire proof your house, clean the shrub around, and organize to build fire barriers. Because politicians will never do this for us.
Our current municipal infrastructure in terms of fire protection, disaster management and emergency response is inadequate. Climate disasters are here due to warming of earth. We are ill prepared.
Right now the people impacted by the fires need help. Trump needs to get his ass out here and meet with the human beings impacted. Needs to make an effort, that’s what presidents do. No comments, except what he will do to help. Won’t change my opinion though of him though. His ego is weak.

I mean, who really KNOWS the cause, really?
And fire. I also blame fire.
Throw Capitalism in there too.
But this hard no
And I believe legally required to write it this way “News”
Kinda like there will always be another mass shooting until we do something about guns.
So the time to blame (and act) is NOW.

Instead we are being driven by insatiable greed. So
Money > politicians > climate change
Politicians representing fossil fools are complicit !
It's a natural disaster people.
You don't have the majority in any measure and its over
