Sorry - the moment after they were threatened, all should have walked out. That’s what courage, integrity, & respect for the rule of law would do!
& FYI, they’ll likely be fired anyway.
They will still all get fired. This isn’t a situation that we can appease our way out of. This is going to take 60s levels of protests and civil disruptions
This sums it up: lead prosecutor Hagan Scotten to henchman Bove:
“If no lawyer within earshot of the President is willing to give him that advice, then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”
I hope the motion begins "Pursuant to the direct order of Emil Bove" and concludes with "Attached in support hereof, please find the affidavits of the following members of the Public Integrity Section"
The signer knows he/she is whoring their ethics for Trump. Whether it was for so-called noble intent or genuine belief in the action, doesn't matter. The others don't get to wrap themselves in a cloak of ethical integrity. They are co-conspirators by not objecting.
I just can't believe that. So, does that make him a 'good guy'? And the rest believe they can resume the pursuit of justice? Without further fear or favor? There has to be a "rest of the story" here.
I guess it was inevitable they would eventually find someone to do the deed. A victory for Bondi/Bovi, but at a high cost. Let's see what the next loyalty test is going to be.
He is Just another Republican doing to dirty work and putting it out there like he is the hero. if this thinking keeps going, the story will be dead, as no one will car of the ones who stood up, only the one that jumped on the grenade.
When you pull the short straw in the pile and pretty much figured you'd be fired next anyway...... might as well create some billable hours on the way out.
Brother, it's about DOJ benefits, a paycheck in the bank every two weeks.
So, of course, someone was going to file DOJ Adams no prosecution dismissal. Taking one for the team is a self feel, good delusion. Benefits, a paycheck if they we're honest with themselves.
I've been saying this for a while, America is in an abusive relationship with this administration. Some of us are being stalked by it and fighting like hell, some are excusing/enabling it (but he loves me) and some are too shattered to speak on it. That's the way I see it.
Caving to threats. Reprehensible. If no one else, except one person was willing to sign, then they 100% support the Regime. This was not a sacrifice for the good of the team, but a choice to further their opportunities within maga world.
Money talks. Loser.
Ummm...selling out their integrity to do the bidding of a blatantly corrupt regime so that they can keep doing the bidding of a corrupt regime is now considered to be HEROIC?
That’s what true warriors do for their teammates! Something none of the MAGA clowns, especially the head clown, can comprehend.
That 1 act carries more power than anything the Elon/Trump admin could ever do. Acts like this lead to the downfall of tyrants!
A hero? They all are cowards. His colleagues should have thought enough about him to stop him and they all should have quit. They are attorneys are they not? It is not as if they don’t have a skill set to fall back on. Shame on them. Folks better than them quit rather than do that fools bidding
Ed Sullivan is a solid lawyer and not a Trumpster by any stretch. His intentions here are good, staving off a resignation or firing of the entire Public Integrity Section (which Trump & Co. would have been happy to see).
Ed Sullivan, the prosecutor who did this, has made a grave mistake. He has betrayed his oath to the Constitution to "save" his friends' jobs at a DOJ that is entirely corrupt and exists only to serve Donald Trump. This is not heroism. It's capitulation. May his name live in infamy.
Any DOJ attorney in SDNY knows they are eminently reemployable—especially those in white collar. There was absolutely no reason to sign, and this will be remembered.
But that attorney can still be questioned by the judge, who, as I understand, could investigate the whole shennanigan. Would this "hero" lie before the judge? I guess we shall soon find out.
The person who signs this is violating a couple of ethic rules and FRCP 11. Heroes don't do that. The heroes are the DOJ lawyers who resigned, not the person who commits misconduct and more importantly facilitates far greater misconduct by their supervisors.
Serious question: How is it Trump's approval rating is still so high? How can they all be ok with all of his actions. Are they really unaffected by all of this?
I'm gobsmacked by it all.
Fuck that person. They should have stood united. Heck, they’re lawyers, they had an awesome class action lawsuit against workplace threats and intimidation.

that cuts against the idea that signing a corrupt filing/motion = taking it for team
She's not a hero, she's a zero. I hope she enjoyed practicing law since she will likely be disbarred like everyone else that has carried Trump’s legal water.
For all we know, it was a bunch of young AUSAs with student debt, mortgages, ill parents, whatever.
If one of them decided to sacrifice his good name to keep them employed (hopefully only until they get out on their own terms), I won't throw stones at that.
"What, none of you want to shoot that baby in the face? Fine, I'll shoot that baby in the face to spare the rest of you the shame. BOOM. Done. Now where's my goddamn medal?"
If they were all going to get fired anyway, all they had to do is have one of them feign acquiescence with Bove's order, then have that one attorney make arguments to the court that fulfill their duty of candor and thus acknowledge to the judge the arguments in the motion are pretextual.
Violating all laws and wiping your ass with our Constitution is the 1st requirement of this criminal led anti-American terrorist nazi org to work within it. All of what's happening is exactly what Hitler did.
i know a lot of ppl on there to engage w "the other side" ... we need to, for sure, be heard by trump voters to turn the tide.
but that platform is rigged to shut u out, wear u down.
the real ppl are out there 🌏.
im just here to feel sane.
if they buy this one, i'd leave.
Dismiss charges with prejudice. Adams gets off, but he can also ignore Trump and Homan. One criminal gets off, which sucks, but Trump's SS, er, ICE won't have administrative help.
Nope. This administration must be forced to follow through with their edicts. There can be no allowances that relieves them of a shred of clarity that the evil they are inflicting was acceptable to anyone. None of this is acceptable. None of it.

This person is no hero and all they have done is become complicit.
We, the average Americans, will end up putting our lives on the line, while others won't even jeopardize their jobs

We are being governed by D-list villains in a bad WW II movie.

Yeah, no thanks.

This administration is totalitarian. They won't get a chance to do good from within.
Anyone with a spine should have just resigned.
I don’t believe there was a promise to not fire anyone if someone did sign it?
Thats the kind of move shitbags like these guys pull.
