I know the world is ending, but I gotta say GDQ is such a bright spot and I can’t get over how cool it is to see people of all ages, especially older people, involved in video games. We now have a 5 year old (Partner's grandson) who blows my mind with Minecraft. He's doing engineering and doesn't know it. Insane, powered builds for minecarts, traps, switch blocks, etc.

When he's ready for 2 player, he's gonna kick my butt. 🥵

I’ve always appreciated the speedrunning community’s esoteric knowledge of the inner workings of games. I know there are the ‘parallel universe’ jokes with Mario 64 speedrunning, but the fact people actually deciphered such abstract concepts in ancient code (and to utilize it) is astounding.

GDQ is really the best and brightest side of the gamerspace. Wholesome, inclusive, acting earnestly toward a good cause. Sadly there are people out there who would take offense with that.

I agree. GDQ's something a lot of people look forward to. I like to keep it in the background whiIe do my own stuff and often times the player says something interesting about their game. Wether it be a mechanic or a glitch/tactic etc and I would've never known that if they didn't mention it.

My grandma was an avid gamer and got me into many of my favorite NES games as a kid in the 80s. She used to make notes and draw maps, and have them to me with the games when she finished them. I still have some, among the ones I did myself.
