Kids these days don't understand the anguish of missing an episode of a serialised TV show and having to wait months for the rerun to cycle back so you could see what you missed.

How did Speedy Cerviche beat Bad Bird after losing that duel? Didn't find out for months. What happened after Stefan proposed to Laura at Disney World and decided to stay Stefan forever? Didn't find out for years.
Or your favorite TV show getting moved to the EARLY MORNING Saturday time slot because it's not selling well... :C (You will be missed Sym-Bionic Titan..)
The final episode of the original “V”. Thanks to a mandatory school award ceremony I had zero interest in.
Took nearly 20 years to know how that ended.
fr!! I remember wathing Sonic X on TV as a kid, the agony when I slept over episode where Shadow first appeared 😭 To this day I remember how sad I was about it!
they do if it is pulled and put on a platform that you refuse to pay for because you are already paying for the one it aired only once on..... Paramount+ sellouts
I kinda miss those times because TV actually felt special back then, now you see whole series on streaming services just pumped out like a firehose and you're like "...I can watch this "later"" or "...ugh... I don't wanna get attached to this"
For me it was Adventure Time. Though most episodes you could watch without a lot of context, some stuff I had no clue of how they got to that point. Same with other Cartoon Network shows. The only one I’ve managed to watch all episodes of without the internet was Gumball.
Especially now that more and more TV channels are switching to "binge watching" programming that plays the same series for hours on end, if not all day. All day of the one show I actually like while the rest of the week nothing but 💩 . Thinking about dumping cable altogether.
Miss one episode of Yugioh GX and suddenly they're in a different dimension and Jaiden's possessed by an ancient king and you had no way of knowing what the fudge happened in-between
I’ll do one worse: channel not showing the episodes in order. I had only a vague idea of the plot from Shaolin Showdown until later on when the internet came around 😓
I remember my nephew being shocked when he found out that there wasn't always the ability to pause TV shows. He couldn't believe you could miss part of a show going to the bathroom during a commercial break.
Yes, it sucked when everyone was trying to go to the bathroom during the same commercial break.
My best friend & I were talking about how people used to learn choreography from their fav music video by waiting for it to come on TV, back before we had VCR's to record the music video.
Or in my case 30 years because I missed both the original airing and the rerun (it was "Mork and Mindy".) I remember wishing my dad were president of ABC so I could go to the network to watch.

Actual phone calls on a landline.
Also tried to explain how devastating it was if someone taped over an unwatched episode if you left the tape in the VHS player
