Some of the PCs folks made were classic horror. A cannibalistic hunger spirit, a haunted doll feeding on fear itself, a mournful church grim blending into the shadows of graveyards that could just snuff out graverobbers
Come up against Powers like The Red (animals) The Green (plants), The Gray (rock and cold), and The Dark (anti-life alien evil.)
Later in the year we should at least get a quickstart out for Feral, which is deep woods horror with anthropomorphic animals.
You play as a baller dancer but the audience is an eldrich horror waiting hungrily for you to make a mistake
It uses tarot cards and a block tower making it super tense as every move brings you closer to being devoured by the amorphous audience
I reached out to a ballet dancer and got a ton of amazing information for it!
I got big inspo from the idea of relics in religion + the bleeding host in catholicism
I'm still finishing up my current project, so this one likely won't hit until the end of the month!
I've also got a body horror game cooking which is heavily inspired by The Fly which is currently based around a yahtzee type thing
CAN/T: a Wretched & Alone game about escaping anxiety.
HER Bones Are Moondust: Cosmic/Divine horror on the moon. For the "Below A Bad Moon" game jam.
And thinking of expanding on my micro game, CURSED, because I just like its look.
Players are performers in a traveling carnival and, in the grand folk horror tradition, every small town they stop in has horrible secrets.
Also: the world feels like it's ending.
Otherwise, I've got:
1. A baking game partially inspired by The Mortuary Assistant
2. Witch's curse rune game
3. Katabasis & sequel to Well Wishers
4. Disability-focused sacrificial horror
Honored to also be a part of Zine Quest 2025!
Those games include Creatures of the Dark, Creatures of the Wood, Wilderlost, Storm Shelter, Life Among Aliens, Singles Going Steady, The Goodbye Bag, Love Beyond Walls, and perhaps three stretch-goal games...
All those games - save Life Among Aliens and Singles Going Steady - have elements of horror and/or dark fantasy.
(LAA is about people and our pets; SGS is a dating game based on song and album titles.)
