I'm proud to say, I wasn't part of that 'we'... I'm on the light side...never entered nor will I ever enter the dark side. I hope those who are of the light use their energy continually being a light to shine brightly in opposing the dark place.
Cloth diapers are the answer.
Buy once, use for decades past the diaper stage.
Bleach and hot water clean them.
Landfills less full.
Corporate profits go down.
2004-5, the price of gas goes through the roof, not because of costs associated with Gulf War II, just because they could. We were living in Houston, a manager at an oil company decided to use his bonus to buy the house next to ours, it wasn't for sale, he paid double market value to get it.
So invest in Kimberly Clark. My parents used washable cloth diapers. What is with some ppl in Hope BC putting used diapers on the side of the road some adult ones? Twice in a few months found bags of excrement one also had diapers in it.
Ugh, my grandfather was standing next to me when I watched that and asked "is that jew about to eat that baby?" and my family all laughed. I'm crying in my car right now. This is what Trump turned this country into.
This will be the norm going forward. Wait until we start seeing price hikes on goods that don't have tariffs that businesses sneak by as normal because goods that do have tariffs are going up. The lack of transparency to consumers is ample ground for growing profits on the backs of those consumers
If Dems wanted to win they would have pulled the CEOs of these companies in front of Congress to grill them on pricing. Did they? No. Of course not. Why would the Dems try to look good to the public?! Even if it was all "for show", it doesn't matter. People are angry & Dems gave them nothing.
I know next to nothing about economics. But a lot of American companies important foreign products they use in manufacturing. So...up go the prices. And what happens when we become a self-sufficient country with everything manufactured domestically? Will the prices go down? I really doubt it.
When have we seen prices really drop after inflation? And we've seen thanks to corporate dominance in markets, to access to ridiculous credit, the consumer can and will bear high prices.
Itβll be interesting to see how the USβ democracy index will change under Trumpβs leadership. He has promised much. But will he be able to deliver the kind of blows required to tank the USβ flawed democracy. Four years is not a lot of time to dismantle things.
Two things Iβm not seeing anyone talk about
The pardoning of the capital rioters and the ripple effects of that ( I canβt even fathom who else might get pardoned)
They are already signaling plans to revisit their beliefs that the 2020 election was stolen.
They are but the upfront cost can be more than what people can afford (although it would save money in the long run). Plus, those who don't have access to washers and dryers would make it difficult unless they are willing to handwash them.
Isn't maximizing profits the goal of every company? That's capitalism. Same for drug companies. How much are you willing to pay for a life-saving epi-pen? $10 that it costs or $1000?
Is "Charging a fair price" anywhere in the play book? Cover costs and add a reasonable markup should be enough.
No, it doesnβt they are not in business to do anything more than appease the god of wall street.
When Farmers can sell for 25% less than they do now will they pass that along HA
Buisness always charges what the market will bear. They have no concerns for the consumer.
Doesn't surprise me one iota knowing how corporate America works. But I do appreciate that you are trying to educate the next generation, no matter how young.
We could have had a president who fought price gouging and brought prices down but instead we got a president who will drive prices up with tariffs and deporting farm workers.
It's all about the profits for investors and bonuses and raises for CEOs.
No wonder the number of billionaires keeps rising as fast as the number of poor.
Its sad to see so many corrupt corporations. Weβve lost our way to provide excellent service for products and services, and have hiked up prices, blaming the economy or the president for increases, when we know itβs simply corporate/CEO greed
We should have let Capitalism die itβs natural death in 2008. How do we stop it now? How many lives have been and are being destroyed by his catastrophic failure of judgment on the part of the worldβs governments?
The covid price hikes were initially due to supply chain issues meeting unchecked demand.
Once the media started hyping the inflation, monopoly corporations morphed into the rapacious capitalist phase of endless price hikes based on...well...inflation.
I was the main pricing consultant to the largest manufacturers in the US. Lowering prices is a thing of the past, its all about how to grow revenue now, they are OK losing 10% of customers if the other 90% are paying more.
Once the tariffs are in place pricing is going to rise across the board.
Why are we only now hearing that inflation is way down and illegal border crossings are 75% below last year? Did the Harris campaign spend too much on joy and too little on facts and policy?
This has me wondering. 2 equivalent products. One 100% US, the other not and tariffed. Will the US manufacturer increase price but not as much as the tariffed one to make more? My gut says yes.
Sorry Bob - I didnβt know they were a non-profit. I suppose once upon a time in the Soviet Union they had wonderful lines you could wait in to get state made diapers? I can send you some economics videos if you need help with how price elasticity and supply and demand works. Let me know.
As shitty as it all is, there's always a silver lining if one is willing to look for it. Disposable diapers are awful for the earth & greedy corps make bank on our desire for convenience. We are smarter than this. There are solutions. No. 1 stop abandoning moms to do everything themselves. Source.
The whole world smells funny. Take back control, and use cloth diapers. Do your part to live more ecologically friendly and save money too. Don't let these bastards control you.
Everyone's gonna be doing it - using any aspect of the still misunderstood "tariffs" thing, to justify raising prices, regardless. They are so predictable
I used cloth diapers, they have great diaper covers these days, they arenβt as inconvenient as you think. Plus, my kids never got diaper rashes with cloth.
What I donβt understand is the Biden administration pushing for Medicare paying for weight loss drugs while my provider just called to tell me they no longer pay for ultrasound on mammograms for seniors. So obesity trumps cancer in older women. Skinny older women. Itβs a drug thing- pharma?
What a disgrace the rich just keep getting richer,
Itβs pathetic. And once again
Targeting our children .
Mom has no money who suffers when thereβs no diapers. These millionaires are pathetic. This is not gonna stand.
Of course they did. Just like the tens of dozens of other greedy corporations supporting djt re-election.
Americans are greedy & ill-educated & bought into the rhetoric that high prices (actually price gouging) are due to the Biden/Harris administration.
We can't even begin to have a discussion about profit controls in this country though, despite the blatant abuse by corporations just siphoning wealth from the system to give to the idle wealthy and hide offshore.
Have more babies, but when you're broke, don't have sex?
Seriously, greedflation reduces costumer count. When all the neighbors bought disposables, I used cloth diapers for all four kids. I was home, had to use my time to work harder, not have more fun. Do we even have diaper services anymore?
