John Feinstein, a Washington Post sportswriter who became the best-selling author of more than 40 books, died March 13 at his brother’s home in McLean, Virginia. He was 68.

I was at IU the year he observed Knight. After his book came out I pretty much followed everything he did because I knew if he was that skilled in writing about all that surrounded Knight and the program, he was worthy of my attention. Godspeed to his family and friends.

I'm not a huge fan of most sportsball stuff, but he was a good writer & could make people interested in stuff they didn't think they cared about. May his memory be a blessing.

This is a big loss. I'm no sports fan but when he spoke, I listened and understood. If something was going on, he'd sort it out. Sincere condolences to family, friends, colleagues, and all who appreciated him.
