Talk to the right folks at NWS LUB; several of us banded together to get old dish and Novrax receiver, set it up in the MICs backyard, and had our own data feed being ingested by LDM for our own projects. Was still going strong when I left 5 years ago...

Unfortunately anything is on the table at this point; nothing official has come down & I haven't heard those rumors. Lots of discussion how to mitigate amount of data going through SBN because bandwidth is limited but again, nothing official.

ha! I found you! @stormchas.ing (apologies for the out of the blue ping) Have you heard of any plans to discontinue NOAAPort with awips in “the cloud”? We talked about this a long time ago on the other place, I’m hoping to maybe build a receiver this summer but heard it’s not long for this world…

I haven't heard any news regarding NOAAPort or AWIPS in the cloud. With that said, seemingly everything at NOAA/NWS is seemingly in limbo.

I was at an NCEP meeting in Feb where AWIPS Cloud was a main topic of discussion. All I can remember/say is that NOAAPORT is being re evaluated, but they were also clear and up front that the AWIPS datalake/datamesh would not be publicly accessible.

So… take that info for whatever you want, with the knowledge no decisions have been made and everything is in flux. I can’t imagine removing NOAAPORT in its entirely if the AWIPS cloud data isn’t public. I don’t know what any alternatives would be.

I’m not speaking on behalf of anyone either. Truth is, I don’t think anybody really knows anything right now. I’d take everything worth a heavy pinch of salt.

Interesting… thoughts (however much you’re able to share, no pressure haha) on whether they’d shut off both and say “the public can just use Unidata’s EDEX”?
