I think this is a bad way for a politicians to talk about their opponents. It implies ministers are motivated purely by love of the rich, malice and cruelty. It's possible to argue their choices are wrong and unduly harsh without going OTT like this. We need a better political culture.

These are self imposed fiscal rules.
Self imposed.
Labour are choosing to push 50,000 children into poverty to signal to wealth & capital that they're on their side.
Disgusting. Sick. Broken.

That is about as mild as you can get describing them, unless you’re an absolute psychopath.
Rather than legitimising what Labour are doing to maintain a veneer of politeness.
What else do you call Labours hyper-austerity / death sentence imposition on the most vulnerable, other than sick?
Anything less would be dishonest.
Time to call it a day, allow the constituent parts to leave & make their own way if they choose to, & sort out a new system for those that don't.
We need honest politicians. Starmer, Reeves, Rayner and Streeting are proving that they are not honest.
Keep on keeping on @zackpolanski.bsky.social
If anything Zack's response is staggeringly restrained.
I agree we need a better political culture. One guided by compassion and respect for the most vulnerable in our society, not deference to the most powerful.
I’m over in the U.S. of A but it sure seems to me like that is 100% what motivates our govt & yours.
Know your place, you whiny plebs.
what do you think they are motivated by
Polite has been tried already.
Some in Labour cabinet are definitely motivated by cruelty, others are just greedy at others expense. All of them are filth.
