Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he will put a 25 percent tariff on electricity going to the 1.5 million homes/businesses in New York, Michigan and Minnesota starting Monday.

"And honestly, it really bothers me we have to do this. I don't want to do this."

As in “Residential tariff”

The Ontario Energy Board has a tariff sheet that outlines pricing for different classes of customers.

No, Ford to media to other interpretations have lost something. It's not a tariff in that it is not on the imports from another country. It "could" be characterized as an export tax but also just a change in pricing (likely some good arguments for additional costs dealing with unstable US admin)

CER issues electricity export permits to "applicants" under the CER Act. Guess who the applicant is? OPG can simply stop applying for permits.
