Polilevre lost his riding last night.
He says he is going to stay on as leader, but he needs someone to step down, and then a bi-election need to be called.
I wonder how many conservatives are going to cooperate with him?!?
While most candidates were most likely in line with some of his plans, I don't think they appreciated being silenced on certain topics. And most have worked really hard in their ridings to win. It very selfish of him to ask one of them to step down.
I thought it did. He didn’t do his job well and he lost it. Perhaps a lesson. He did not represent Canadian values. We deserve better. Perhaps LOO #5 will get it.
And yet he was headed towards a big victory before our Bumpkin in Chief said he wanted Canada to be the 51st state, pissing off the majority of y’all and rightfully so.
I think he'll want to stay on because there were still a LOT of votes for the CPC, but whether the CPC wants him to stay is another question.
If it's a Liberal minority govt, we may have another election shortly.😬
I also wonder if Doug Ford is thinking of running federally, at some point.
Hopefully the party gives him the boot. The man has zero redeeming qualities. If you lose your riding after all of these years, you have to realize just how unlikable you are. I mean hey, keep him and guarantee another liberal term, I guess.
Typical for Poilievre, he’s going to hang on to his job. Unless there’s a movement internally to replace him. This unfortunately is unlikely given the he seems to be Harper’s golden child. But you never know it could happen.
I remember a (better) Conservative leader who increased % vote, WON his own seat and wanted to stay on because "change takes time". He didn't get that, because it wasn't up to him. Canadian Tire won't have enough knife sharpeners for the Conservative party this week.
Exactly. I think he will ask someone to step aside to stay on. He's never done anything else, he has no skills outside rage farming. He is poison to the Con party after he aligned himself fully with 🍊 and all his hateful policies. I am ok with him sticking around and burning it all to the ground.
Don't doubt he will ask, but what happens next won't be up to him. The % growth and realized seats would have kept him on after he blew a 25 point lead, but his own riding? Nope. And the part we aren't hearing about - Jenni Byrne cost the Cons more than they could afford. My $ says both are history.
Comments
it came true.
He dropped 90 candidates into various ridings, upsetting many.
How many won those ridings and how loyal will they be?

If he'd just followed the rules and done his job, he might still have one

Congratulations to Bruce Fanjoy…
