Hi Cow! Glad to follow you here now. I see you have an “Invalid Handle”, as do I. I didn’t yesterday, and only joined 2 days ago.
Anyone out there in the BlueSkyverse have any idea why? How to fix it? I’ve poked around my Settings already.
In our house the tree goes up two weekends before Xmas and stays up until the weekend after New Years. Usually. Now with just the husband and I, we are lucky if we even decorate.
In light of the shit show that will happen once the orange clown takes control, I'm pretty sure leaving it up all year is acceptable. We will need something to provide some happiness next year.
This reminds me of the year I left my Xmas tree up until April. When I went to finally move it to take it down, whatever quantum-entangled state it had been in since December was shifted into an observable state and all of the pine needles fell off at once into an enormous circular heap on the rug.
While my mother is a “lapsed” Catholic, she did not let us take any decorations down until after Jan 6. And in her nativity scene in our living room, the 3 wise men were away from the manger and around a corner table. On then did she move them to the manger.

It’s the 6th in Ireland too, we call it Nollaig na mBan, (Women’s Christmas - aka Little Christmas) It was traditionally the day women got to put their feet up & do no work, after having to do all the work of Christmas ❤️
Also, it’s unlucky to take it down after the 6th. If the decorations are still up on 7th, they’re up for the rest of the year to prevent bad luck🤷🏻♀️ I don’t make the rules🤭
Yeah, I’m not even a believer but just growing up w the tradition if I see baby J out before then it throws me off.
Course I used to play w GI Joes in the backyard.
I'm a lapsed Catholic who always kept the tree up until January 6th after 1976, when my parents transferred to San Juan & learned about Three Kings' Day. Then my youngest daughter was born on January 4th so it worked for us. Currently not caring if I even see a Christmas tree.
The nativity got set up on the 24. Jesus appeared on the 25. The Wise Men showed up across the room and moved a little every day until Epiphany when they showed up at the manger, usually with E.T. who became an unofficial Wise Man.
The Feast of Epiphany celebrates the visit of the Magi to the newborn Yeshua. That’s the end of the Christmas season per the Catholic Church. That’s why the decorations stay up to honor the Light born into this world.
I’ve decided mine is simply a winter tree, meant for the period daylight is short - I appreciate the ambient lighting when the sun is still setting so early. Last year mine was up until mid-February 🎄🕯️✨

I’m a January close to New Years baby. The tree stays up. If it’s still not dropping needles, it can stay until Jan 20th.

The whole "twelve days" is just another thing Christmas "borrowed" from Yule. It's okay. We've had like 1000 years to get over it. 😂
It's also known as "Nollaig na mBan" or "Women's Christmas".

Comes down Epiphany.
was putting up the tree the day before Christmas Eve and taking it down while the last present was being unwrapped.
Nobody talks to her anymore.
