It’s quite incredible that people voted out of anger that prices are too high and corporations are screwing them when the next guys big ideas are to raise prices even higher via tariffs and cripple the agencies that regulate corporations.

Also that, regardless of how you feel about anything else they did, the last administration was objectively going after large corporations and creating consumer protections drastically more than any other recent administration!
I do think there is a profound level of ignorance amongst our voting population. We can debate why, but the tariff stuff should be pretty non-ideological. This is something conservatives hated *for decades*, and economists on both sides warned about.
It has often been the case that the vibes were, "who would you rather have a beer and hang with?"
This year neither was checking that box. So the vibe that dominated was being pissed about a 20% haircut to income.
