I know we're dealing with the Data bill amendment in parliament but there's ANOTHER vote happening that affects trans people
GPs are having a vote this Friday about whether or not to record "biological" sex at birth on our NHS records at the LMC (Local Medical Committees) conference in Glasgow

Way to throw your colleagues under the bus!
It is absurd for trained medical professionals to regard the birth cert as defining biological sex.
That said, I still presumably have a prostate and don't have a uterus.
Similar with bone scans.
I do get breast scans. Not bones, though. Nor prostate exam
Transphobia has infected all our institutions 😔
I've emailed the grampian lmc and copied in my msps and mp.
It's clearly transphobic, I'm livid.
Fuck 'em indeed!
It concerns me greatly that
a. there are bigots in the medical profession, and

I hate to dismiss things as not standing a chance after the SC but this would break so many laws without any authority
From now on I will refer to my cybernetic sex, which is far superior to your biological sex. (/s)
I already have to "lie" about my sex at birth to book an HRT review with my GP.
The system isn't fit for purpose, and bigots insisting on "biological" sex trumping a patient's reality will decrease, not increase, patient safety.
The indignity of outing oneself constantly is a separate issue.
When registering a new patient one of the input fields is "Gender at Birth", so
I'm not naming the company as they are not the bad guys here, we have to implement what is asked of us, and they have a VERY robust policy on recognising
Labour cannot re-set its relationship with the EU, as it says it intends to do, without such commitment.
So some of this stuff is rather whipping up even more fear than is helpful.
This is about a clear, unambiguous trans marker. In a post EHRC UK, it will be used to discriminate in healthcare provision and hospital ward choice
It also doesn't seem to take much either an idiot or someone who's malicious to really make a mess of your records and there is pretty much nothing you can do about it

Also, seeking the legal right for GPs to misgender patients with impunity. 😳
Emailed Lothian LMC last night to say "no" to all.
