every inch of progress in the US is like this. BLM, defund the police, trans rights, etc — all marginal, sometimes nonexistent gains followed by massive rightward pendulum swings born of the (false) assertion that by gently prodding an issue, we’ve gone “too far”

The real MeToo “cancel culture” was what happened to the women and other victims who came forward. They were retraumatized, harassed, humiliated, sued, fired, and blacklisted. Then they were the subject of a revisionist history that MeToo went “too far” and deserved a reactionary backlash

Not Far Enough
It was never about how we approached these movements. It has always been about how it made them feel.
And they call US "snowflakes".
IT WON'T TAKE MUCH, IT SEEMS. 🙄
Without a needed escalation to violence from MeToo, scumbag predators learned they could get away with whatever by just ignoring complaints and never apologizing/admiting-wrong.
