Isn’t this kind of the problem though? Schumer bends over backwards to all but condone the kidnapping of a green card holder for speech and they still characterize him this way. Why not go to the wall when they’re going to say what they’re going to say whether you straddle the fence or not?

Not big on defending Schumer. I think he's the wrong person for the moment. But he did not 'all but condone' it. You don't like his emphasis, and I didn't either but not a good reason to mischaracterize it. 2nd, he's a *politician* who is suddenly in dangerous waters, and the danger isn't political.
