There is nothing worse than randomly falling asleep at 4 PM and waking up a few hours later wondering if you’ve missed a day. It usually happens to me when I’m getting sick as I’m not much of a napper.
This has happened to me more than once when I've fallen asleep, totally exhausted or sick, and I've awoken at 6-7 and am unsure if it is morning or evening. I usually wrongly guess that it is evening because I feel so refreshed.
Ha, I did similar but I turned my weekend into a 3 dayer. On Sunday I took a nap, woke up around 6pm, got up, got dressed, and drove half way to work before I realized the sun was setting, not rising🤷♀️ felt like I had an extra mini Sunday
I have taken a similar powerful nap before and wake up thinking I slept so hard it should be morn and once realized, I was overtaken by the fact I was going to be up all night. Lol.
I think he also got confused by the am/Pm thing (if it shows up on his clock) because in france we don't have that system (it took me a while to get used to it..)
I laid down for a nap once in college, woke up at 7 p.m. but thought it was 7 a.m. and freaked out at people for not waking me up. They looked like I was on something.
Had a similar experience in college - came home after finals and went to bed at 10pm. Woke up at 1:00 and couldn't figure out why it was light outside. Turns out I had slept straight through until 1pm. I was so confused. Didn't have a smart phone to post about my confusion though. 🤷♀️
10am Sept 9, 2020, San Francisco. We got up at 8, looked out the window, looked at each other, looked out the window, stood there for at least 30 seconds before speaking and going to Google to find out WTF
Been there. My daughter is living with me at the moment, and she works nights. I have tried to change my sleeping routine so I can spend time with her. I am old so my sleep routine a lot of times consists of naps. It can become very confusing. 😴🙃
When I was a teenager I fell asleep in the afternoon, and woke up at 7 (pm) in a panic bc I thought it was 7am and I was late for work. I actually got dressed for work and went outside. It was light bc it was summer.
I did this in my younger years, usually on a Friday.
City life, single, broke, tons of walking, not eating well, come home literally exhausted, crash on bed, deep sleep, wake after 1-2 hours hungry but refreshed, what day is it? what time is it? am I late?
That sounds like something I would think for about three minutes when I was in my 20s and had time for long naps. I’m impressed the confusion lasted through the process of writing a reddit post and hitting “send”.
One time when I was maybe 12, I woke up to see my alarm clock said 8:00. I ran downstairs and everyone was in the living room watching tv. I was yelling at them to get ready or we’d miss the bus. It was 8:00 p.m.
I'm just imagining this poor guy looking out the window just now and panicking that it's so dark this morning. Is it the end of the world? Just a storm? What the hell is wrong with the world?
Could you imaging waking up feeling like you got an entire night’s sleep, looking at the clock and realizing you *still* have an entire night’s sleep ahead of you?
We can mock this person, I guess, but it seems to me like they’re living a dream
lmfao, it happens to me at least once a week 😂
in my case it's just the reality of living with severe circadian rhythm dysfunction, exacerbated by dyschronometria. sometimes it's great waking up thinking it's the next day then discovering nah I actually only slept for an hour, other times it sucks 🙃
Omg, the opposite happened to me just the other week, I took a nap, woke up at 6:00 pm but thought it was the morning and it was so freaking bright out for a brief moment I thought a bomb had gone off.
In fairness this happened to me a couple of times when I was younger, it usually only comes around after drinking too much at lunchtime and not having a 24 hour click in tour bedroom. The upside, of course, is that once you realise its 8pm you can go back out to the pub for a few hours!
I totally did this once in college and I can't blame being under the influence of anything. Thank goodness this was before the days of social media to immortalize my panic
Everything's gone mad, looks like the end of the world out but this guy doesn't just give up, he checks reddit first! All in all, he's coping pretty well.
Trump is an idiot that has power because the Republicans that know better and should be stopping him are weak and not living up to their oath. We should be impeaching members of Congress!
hard relate! thankfully though my autistic brain prefers the 24 hour time format so the am/pm thing on my phone isn't an issue for me (but it absolutely is a pita with my multiple analogue wall clocks, so yeah I totally get what you have to deal with)
I did this on a trip to another country (same time zone)-- was exhausted, went to bed around 2pm, woke up thinking I slept through the night, went to get included hotel buffet breakfast, they said go elsewhere, did, got a menu..WTF are they charging me? Took me a while to realize I woke ....

It's impossible to mistake 0900 for 2100
“Did the Sun go out?”

It's an uncomfortable, trippy feeling.
I have had that happen to me...🤣🤣🤣

No kidding. With this timeline in American history, shit gets people darting in other places in the mind. 😝
THIS very thing happens to me all the time. I rigourously looked for a way to make my iPhone displace AM/PM on the time/clock widget to no avail.
😠
