1/ I was born and raised in Soviet proxy Poland. Voice of America (shortwave) was one of very few Polish language news stations we could get real news from. All else was Soviet propaganda.
It was REALLY hard to tune to, as Soviets jammed it using more powerful transmitters than their own broadcasts.
