Tbh, i wish nintendo would spend less time suing other game devs for mechanical patents and focus on better their future proofing of a console and games. Might actually make them be less of jerkoffs and actually give the good ol game feel back like NES, super nintendo, gamecube, and n64 period.
I mean, the past two games haven't even had the real Link in them. He's canonically left-handed. idk who that is in the shitty open world games but it ain't the real Link.
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are not part of the timelines in regards to other games. This was stated by the producer/director recently.
The timeline was a fan created theory. There never was one from the start and the games were made as their own story.
Yes, you could theorize things based off of Ocarina of Time but it's not canon "linking" everything together. The developers didn't structure things this way.
This is not true. There’s a clear and obvious connection between all of the Zelda games before twilight princess. Even that game has an obvious connection to OOT. Really the only mainline games that don’t have an obvious connection to another game is BOTW and TOTK which are their own thing
So if there was never a timeline order at all, explain why The legend of Zelda leads into A sequel, A link to the past is a prequel to those games, with OOT being a prequel to ALTTP. Majoras Mask is obviously a sequel to OOT. Both windwaker and twilight princess take place after OOT with WW 1/2
"Sorry, Fam, can't retcon RN, working on a new one where you play as a train. Just put them in whatever order makes you happy. Can't really mess up a multiverse; just think of this as a multimultiverseverse."
Lore theorists? I like to lore bait to the fishes to get a heart piece. Idk what theory to make, though "Why did the fish not fall for the bait". Mama Mia
Im not trying to be one, I just find it funny how Nintendo keeps coming back to add to their timeline while also doing things that imply that they don't really care about having that kind of continuity. At this point it wouldn't surprise me if they just end up doing whatever with it
Do you want tons of branches in the zelda multiverse? Because that's how you get them. I'm not sure what the hyrulian TVA looks like, but let's avoid a visit from them... Actually I take it back. A zelda game where you travel through different zelda games to help other links sounds awesome. LOL
I stopped caring about the continuity of Zelda when BOTW came out. It already made little sense before then, but BOTW being outside the normal canon just made me smh.
They basically did this when they said Minish Cap took place after Skyward Sword even though the former was supposed to be the origin story for his hat.
even funnier when you consider that the immediate next game after skyward sword features a link design that does not have a hat of sorts aside from optional armor sets
Putting Four Swords Adventures hundreds of years after Four Swords, and putting Link's Awakening after the Oracle games instead of with AlttP was already kinda doing that. We need to go deeper.
New game that takes place after Link beats Ganon in OOT but also got like REALLY into the bombchu game at some point, so it's all he talks about and even if they appreciate that he saved Hyrule no one really wants to deal with him
I have a friend who is trying to figure out the timelines and keep track of it. She doesn't play, but its her life mission to understand it. If they did this, I will never know peace cause I know she will panic bombard me with texts
new game that specifically takes place during majoras mask where you have to stop the sun from hitting hyrule in 3 days. it is never explained or otherwise adressed by any other media except a hyrule warriors dlc
Tears of the Kingdom should turn the timeline into a branching timeloops and allow games to fall into a timeline stream where zelda went back in time, and a timeline stream where zelda didn't go back in time.
Sometimes I wonder why people aren't willing to look at these kinda things a little more like you have to look at say Greek mythology. Symbolically meaning full characters that get picked up by different writers to tell sometimes contrdictionary stories.
“The first half of the new Legend of Zelda: Full-Life Consequences runs concurrently to Link’s Adventure while the second half takes place shortly before Neutopia II for PC-Engine.”

you can't tell me that wind waker and twilight princess and a link between worlds all happened at the same time
Yes, you could theorize things based off of Ocarina of Time but it's not canon "linking" everything together. The developers didn't structure things this way.
They're doing it already
With botw and then made a sequelless sequel to it to annoy people even more
sure let's put Link's Crossbow Training between Oracle of Ages and Wind Waker, who cares
Just add the Philips CD-I games to the Hyrule Historia timeline.
It’s set AFTER Twilight Princess
It would be chaos and I would love it.
