So the interesting element to this for me is can you actually erase birthright citizenship for "immigrants," which is really for descendants of immigrants born in the USA, without actually eliminating it for everyone going forward, thereby making citizenship something contingent that has to granted.

That’s a realistic caveat, but always remember: do not obey in advance!

Trump was rolling ahead with his muslim ban, and people took the time to protest, loudly & in huge numbers.

There are avenues available to oppose this crap, and we must be ready to follow them all.

That was then. It's a different political AND legal environment now and it will be more so circa 2026. That doesn't mean you don't fight, but "don't obey in advance" also doesn't require "pretend it's the same as it was ten years ago". Disobedience is a rolling practice.
