Heard from a witness that an Endeavor Air CRJ crashed at Toronto Pearson Airport. Photo shows the plane inverted

Glad everyone got out - 27026G34, right between RWYs 24 and 33, sounds pretty close to the commercial upper limit for a CRJ on a snowy runway.

I’m stuck in Edmonton on the tarmac. We were told Pearson has been shut down. No other info.

Other than being upside down the plane kinda looks okay? Am I totally missing something? How on earth does that happen?

It does seem to be in one piece, which feels like a positive thing. Or at least not as negative as it could be.

Anecdotal so far, but a pilot on the ground at YYZ says a crosswind gust caused a wingstrike on flare

That would be my first guess as to what happened as well, considering what little we know so far.

For your sake, among other reasons, I think we should stop having plane crashes. No more. Let the Admiral catch up on the backlog.

According to Pearson Airport, all occupants are accounted for, at least 8 people were injured. Hoping that means everyone is okay!
