Let's be clear: the idea that breakfast clubs would adequately mitigate the impact of the two-child limit is absolute bollocks.
The average household hit by the two-child limit loses out on roughly £3,800 a year. They're not currently spending that on coco pops.

There's also the fact that the government funding for these breakfast clubs amounts to almost nothing per school.
They're so bad at this.

3800 /190 school days = 20 pound breakf
Put in saving on other children 6 pound per breakf
14 pounds
4.50 pounds
but would parents affected by the 2CL currently be purchasing childcare, or needing to purchase childcare, for that specific morning period just before school starts?
‘ We can’t feed pupils for 60 p a day say schools in blow to Labour breakfast club pledge ‘ .

What did you expect them to do?
All areas of govt are subject to a test of affordability and the spending review will show the priorities for this govt.
The Tories have already stated they’ll cut the welfare budget to afford greater spend on armed forces.
And as I mentioned it’s unfair that it’s the children that bear the brunt but it’s legitimate to discuss it.
Affordability is legitimate debate in all areas of government
Reform and Conservatives are coming for the welfare budget and robust evidence based discussion is required to defend those parts of it that we want to protect
when it comes to child poverty, as a taxpayer you can pay now or you can pay later, but you will pay.
where will the people come from? who will pay for your retirement?
answers on a postcard...
If feeding children is not "realistic" then what is?
Govt can fuck off w this bs.
