I've seen some posts like "can't believe we are all just continuing with our lives as if fascism isn't taking over" and like ok sure that's relatable, but also, literally wtf am I supposed to do? Go outside and just scream? Do a citizen's arrest of Pete Hegseth? Defund a cop?

Swear to fkin god i didnt expect waking up every say to remember the pandemic was going on to be a dry run for worse times
get out there on saturday
don't get co-opted by democrats
You specifically are past due for a vacation.
Then that is your way of being defiant, by taking care of you, you can do more for a better tomorrow when it arrives.
It’s all loading up piles of mental crap leading us further into the land of hopelessness. People need to focus on posting steps to fight- actions to take. 🔥
I’m considering starting a non-profit right now to fight the BS in the world.
I need a board tho. 🥲
Anyhoo! Yeah, I think if you keep organizing the buddies, good, lasting change can happen.
History shows the ebb and flow of reason. The tide *eventually* turns. If it doesn’t, at least we tried! 💖
@matthewmercer.bsky.social has The Critical Role Foundation I wanted to model it after, but to pool$ with helping birds/environment/mentalhealth bc I see the need.
Here’s how to break that spell — and fight back:

Feeling much the same. Trying to keep other facets of personal life from crumbling while preparing for the fallout from the collapse of others. All while trying to do what I can for the fight. But I'm not an energizer bunny. The batteries are running out.
Too bad I’m terrible at organization /srs
I once thought that it was a silly notion, how can song possibly change anything?
But I’ve learned that songs have the power, unity, and strength that can stand scrutiny
Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia got independence through song and holding hands all along the highway.
We have always shared our talents and passions, Amir and everyone on the panels have often praised us for our creative drive.
the passion that brought us here shall never fade from this earth.
but I can sing, paint and create. And no matter what the world thinks of it I shall never stop creating.
If I’m not accepted at an art academy, it won’t stop me.
And if dictator von Orange hates my art, then that won’t stop me either.
This is especially tricky in the US where everyone has been taught out of any sort of collective action.
So for now best you can do is to be ready for when it gets past comfort for a lot more people. And continue helping in the meanwhile!
Hey, love.
Breathe. Feel what you feel- It’s real, & it matters, & it’s Step One to Doing Something about all this shit.
Breathe, then feel. In that order.
The way to resist is to show up, and you do. Any way you can, you do.
Every community has spots for every member, & w/o art so many of us wouldn’t still be here to be lawyers, doctors, advocates… Alive.
So just wake up, breathe, and stay alive to do what you can.
All of us, not just you. This is for everyone scrolling, bc all I know to do is make words, & maybe someone needed them today the way I needed this community.
In Europe right now our governments are preparing citizens for a possible invasion by October. So I understand how Americans feel overwhelmed.
You can’t live every second fearing the worst, you just gotta hug your loved ones and take it as comes
You’re already doing it, Amir. You’re living and loving, you’re making people laugh & giving them hope. These are so important & give folks reasons to continue to do the same.
We all have parts to play & some of us are joy-bringers.
It is, and that means what you can do is unite to defeat the 1 procent.
that also means taking breaks to live life, unity gives you the power to relax more than you can alone.
But even when we were in that room, listening to the diagnosis and the world was crashing down on us. Someone said "the world doesn't stop. We have to keep living."
And that applies here too.
Keep going. You got this.
🫂
I've told people that all of this is like when I was living with D.A. except on a way larger scale. It's worse because it's one thing if it's just me that's not safe. It's a whole other thing when no one is safe.
I don't know how to escape this one.
Surviving is continuing on. Living our day to day lives to the best of our abilities. Keep what normalcy we can. Keep what gives us hope so we can give hope to others.
The best resistance is survival.
Life doesn't stop. The world doesn't stop.
So neither can we.
We have to go to work and play nice.
We do what we can to try to make things better while we maintain our own existence.
We are no use to anyone if we stop.
We can cry, and we can scream.
But we have to keep going.
And it is SO HARD to keep going like everything is okay.
But we have to.
Because the world doesn't stop.
We have to keep going and keep trying to find that path forward, because otherwise we ...what? We give up? We go and make things worse?
I recommend singing.
Singing is a great unifier, it feels nice to do, and it grounds the soul, and it’s something you know how to do when everything else is uncertain.
it doesn’t have to be for anyone.
but singing as a tool was used effectively during Corona lockdown.
OK, well, good night.
like😙😙ok😙bye🙌
Got into a doomscroll and felt the need to vent.
Love yall.
@tesla-takedown.bsky.social for more ideas.
ive said it before but i'll say it again, don't pressure yourself to seem strong for amiricans right now. you've built a great, strong community that can lean on each other. you're very loved & appreciated.
get some rest mirmir
like 😙😙 okay 😙 bye 🙌
The little things you do bring many of us great joy, so, if anything, you're doing your part to defy all this.
Rest up. Hug your wife. Mourn your dog. Be human. Continue to let love define you. Not hate.
* Email your reps - repeatedly
* Join a group like Indivisibles - they will guide you.
* Join protests
* Find Bsky accounts that track protest in your area
* Get involved with your local political groups
* At very least, don't go quiet. More voices = more pressure
