And away we go.
President Trump launched a trade war against Canada Saturday by imposing a 25% tariff on virtually all good from the U.S.'s neighbour — an unprecedented strike against a longstanding ally that has the potential to throw the economy into a tailspin

NATO is Phase II.
Many people who swore a duty to protect the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic are allowing this to happen.
*One state and not 10, so it doesn't have any power inside the Senate either.
What if he's just doing this to start a military war? It's no secret he wants/needs the resources we've protected over the decades. So does Russia, China, and India. They're like jackals, drooling to take Canada apart.
I wonder why
- Enbridge Line 5 to Southern Ontario.
- Most of BC's motor fuels are refined in WA. Similar elsewhere.
- Power flows South to North a lot, depending on location and time. Electric grid is very integrated N-S but not E-W.
Canada is a net exporter of electricity, but beyond that, most grids have reliability standards and can (under most load/generation conditions) self supply.
BC has been importing a lot of electricity for the past couple of years (drought). We tend to buy cheap power from them at off peak hours too.
This is from Jan 20, but it will probably apply this weekend too.
