He should have seen or read enough mech fiction by now to know that the pilots always "jack into" the mech via the mech pegging them. Not sure why he's acting all weird about it all of a sudden.
I was wondering, even though it involves a thorn symbol, if it was a portmanteau of “they” and “pegged” and had some kind of meaning in that direction. But clearly not.
