That's how I ended up with my RV. Got priced out of my apt of 10 yrs. Senior Housing had a 3+ yr wait.
Now I'm scared they'll increase my lot rent or that my SS check will go.

I'm scared of having to move back in with my parents. All we ever did was fight. They constantly give me dysphoria by misgendering and deadnaming me. And what about my cat? This is the only home she's ever had, other than the people who abandoned her when she had her babies. 😥

My developmentally disabled brother lives in a group home that I'm preeeeetty sure is funded entirely by his SSDI and Medicaid. My mom lives nearby so she wouldn't let him go homeless but oh, guess what, pretty sure she gets Social Security too.

My mom’s apartment complex is subsidized. It’s about half of her SS payment. She qualifies for Medicaid to supplement her Medicare. She also receives SNAP. She’s 79 this year and still drives her friends to church, exercise class, and their appts. Next few months are scary.

My uncle is in a similar situation. I worry that if the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development is targeted, his subsidized housing program may be shut down. Some apartment complexes are subsidized by tax breaks instead, and wouldn't be as affected till next year, but I don't know which type he's in.
